Project: Up, Up and Away

Before my daughter was born, like most expecting mothers, I got into a frenzy of nesting and one of the most important things on my mind was decorating the nursery. As we decided not to find out the gender of the child before the birth, I was a bit challenged to find a theme that was gender neutral. But where do I go when I am in need of some inspiration? …the fabric store of course!

After a bit of looking around in the baby section and not getting a clear vision, I went over to some of the regular textiles and there I found it. This teal, yellow and purple patched woven fabric caught my eye. With the varying sizes of woven squares and colors as well as this line and numbers, I immediately thought of a hot air balloon.
